Requirements
  • A PhD, DDS/PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in a relevant field such as biomedical sciences, bone biology, tissue engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated research productivity with peer-reviewed publications.
  • Evidence of potential for securing extramural funding.
  • Ability to perform the stated physical job functions, including working in upright, seated, walking, indoor, and occasional outdoor or confined-space conditions; using both hands and arms; performing repetitive and fine motor movements; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 15 pounds; and maintaining the stated vision, hearing, dexterity, tactile, and peripheral-vision capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in musculoskeletal biology, tissue engineering, and/or regenerative medicine.
  • Develop research focused on bone biology, skeletal repair, and craniofacial or alveolar bone regeneration.
  • Publish high-impact, peer-reviewed research and present findings at national and international meetings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across basic science, clinical departments, and industry partners.
  • Contribute to teaching in predoctoral, postdoctoral, and/or graduate programs in bone biology, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine.
  • Mentor students, residents, and research trainees.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
  • Engage in professional service activities, including peer review, grant panels, and scientific societies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Postdoctoral training with a strong focus on musculoskeletal or craniofacial research.
  • Experience with bone regeneration and remodeling.
  • Experience with stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.
  • Experience with biomaterials and tissue engineering.
  • Experience with mechanisms of skeletal repair and inflammation.
  • An emerging or established track record of grant funding, such as NIH funding or equivalent.
  • Interest in translational research and clinical relevance, particularly in oral and craniofacial applications.
