Like a beloved weather person or a highly technical weather radar, you’ve got a knack for tracking, maintaining, and explaining forecasts any day of the week! (Just take the word “weather” and replace it with “sales order,” and BOOM! You’ve got it covered.) In fact, if someone took a peek inside your brain, they’d likely find a data dashboard—or three! Ever since you were a kid, your favorite pastimes included solving puzzles, math problems, and mysteries, too. And today? You’ve channeled all that problem-solving energy into learning all there is to know about planning tools and systems, tracking data, inventory numbers, monitoring analytics, and more—even your daydreams come with charts and graphs!
Sound like you? We’re looking for a Demand Planner, and we’d love to hear from you.
About you:
- Analyzing data and information comes so naturally to you, that even Sherlock Holmes would ask you for advice!
- Your friends joke that you’d not only find a needle in a haystack, but you’d also get it done in record time. Guinness Book of World Records here you come!
- Being responsible and balanced is your aim, and because of this, team members can always trust you to get things done. You’re a ‘no muss, no fuss’ kind of person.
- If “Communication” were an Olympic sport, you’d have all the gold medals! You’re clear, concise, and considerate, too.
- You always say, “Teamwork makes the dream work!” And you mean it. You operate with a Juntos es Mejor, or “Together is Better,” mentality.
What you will do:
- Develop and maintain accurate weekly sales order forecasts for all assigned customers and SKUs.
- Work with Sales, Supply Planning, and Production teams to align on sales order timing and supply availability.
- Understand and communicate the rationale and assumptions behind the sales order forecast as needed.
- Analyze historical data, channel inventory, and sales and marketing inputs to generate reliable sales order forecasts.
- Monitor and report on forecast accuracy, bias, and other key performance indicators.
- Support senior team members in cross-functional communication regarding forecast changes.
- Work with Supply Planning and Commercialization teams to develop inventory strategies for existing products, new launches, and phase-outs.
- Use planning tools and systems, suggesting potential improvements.
- Maintain the parameters and logic used by planning tools to convert the consumption forecast into the sales order forecast.
- Contribute to demand planning process improvement.
- Monitor and manage channel inventory levels.
Your experience:
- 2+ years of experience in demand planning or related fields is required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including proficiency with formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis is required
- Knowledge of data visualization tools or experience with demand planning software such as Anaplan or S&OP tools is a plus
- Knowledge of the consumer packaged goods industry is a plus but not required
