Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification or national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
  • A current Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
  • The ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • The ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
  • The ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.
  • The ability to manage a budget and work within budget constraints.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, lead, and manage the clinical practice, quality, and safety of patient care delivered by advanced practice providers.
  • Coordinate care and meet patient care needs in conjunction with licensed independent providers, population managers, care managers, and other providers.
  • Participate in hiring, supervising, and evaluating team members.
  • Identify and initiate interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve team and patient goals.
  • Advance clinical practice within the department and beyond using available resources and methodologies.
  • Disseminate clinical knowledge and advance practice development through scholarly publication and participation in professional meetings.
  • Lead or participate in departmental, hospital, and system-level committees and task forces as a department, practice, or nursing representative.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to refine team goals, objectives, and the care delivery model.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present team-based care results to organizational, departmental, practice, nursing, and staff audiences.
  • Provide direct patient care, counseling, and teaching.
  • Perform physical examinations and provide preventive health measures appropriate to patient needs.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Arrange care plans and follow-up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical-assessment findings.
  • Set priorities for efficient patient-care management using evidence-based practice and available resources.
  • Incorporate health maintenance, prevention, and promotion into daily practice through patient education and counseling.
  • Assist patients and families with self-care management by providing information, tools, and resources.
  • Engage in regular performance-improvement activities and use performance and patient-outcome data for continuous quality improvement.
  • Contribute to structures, processes, and systems that improve patient care and disease management.
  • Assess internal controls and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on applicable controls, University policies, and procedures.
  • Manage ambulatory and inpatient schedules for advanced practice providers to ensure coverage for sick leave and planned vacation.
  • Oversee time-off coverage, update QGenda, and communicate clinic closures as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of advanced practice provider monthly meetings and retreats.
  • Participate in advanced practice provider onboarding, including developing and assessing new provider practice toward independence.
