  • At least 12 years of progressive experience in purchasing, supply chain, or commodity management, including at least 5 years leading teams and demonstrated success leading global, geographically distributed organizations.
  • Significant Tier 2 supplier experience, including managing suppliers behind direct or contract manufacturers and understanding sub-tier capacity, lead times, constraints, and risk.
  • Experience in supply continuity and risk management, including multi-sourcing, capacity reservations, allocation management, geographic concentration, obsolescence, end-of-life and part-number management, and contingency planning.
  • A proven track record leading high-value, high-complexity negotiations and delivering significant year-over-year cost performance.
  • Deep understanding of automotive electronics supply chains, including electronic modules, sensors, and electronic components, as well as cost structure, manufacturing processes, and sub-tier dynamics.
  • Experience owning sourcing execution across a full vehicle program lifecycle, from target setting through launch and running production.
  • Strong cross-functional influence at the executive level, with effective partnership experience with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance.
  • Fluency with cost analytics, should-cost modeling, strategic sourcing systems, and enterprise planning tools.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Experience building to print or making to specification with products designed internally by engineering.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers, electronics manufacturing services, or original equipment manufacturers, particularly understanding how Tier 2 suppliers feed into the company’s manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Experience developing sub-tier or Tier 2 supply chains and managing component allocation during constraints.
  • International work experience and comfort operating across Asian, European, and North American supply bases.
  • Experience building supply resilience programs, including inventory strategies, long-term supply agreements, dual sourcing, or critical material risk mitigation.
  • A demonstrated use of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve sourcing, negotiation, or risk decisions.
  • A track record of developing leaders and building strong succession benches.
Responsibilities
  • Own the global category strategy for the end-to-end Tier 2 electronic and mechanical component portfolio by developing multi-year category strategies covering supply base structure, technology roadmaps, competitive positioning, manufacturing footprint, and resilience posture, and driving them through approval to execution.
  • Deliver annual commercial and design cost-efficiency commitments across the portfolio, personally leading the highest-stakes negotiations and holding the organization accountable through a disciplined operating rhythm.
  • Lead sourcing execution for major future vehicle programs by ensuring cost targets are set and jointly approved with Engineering before sourcing, negotiation timelines run ahead of program milestones, and sourcing decisions are completed on time with fully qualified, quality-capable suppliers.
  • Direct sourcing and long-term supply strategy for each component-category technology, including next-generation technology, in partnership with Engineering from concept through production commitment.
  • Shape and diversify the global supply base by qualifying and onboarding new partners, creating competition in concentrated commodity areas, and building dual-source and regional capability to reduce single-point and geographic exposure.
  • Own supply resilience for the portfolio through inventory and safety-stock strategies for constrained components, long-term volume and capacity agreements, sub-tier visibility, critical raw-material exposure mitigation, and elimination of open-market and spot purchases.
  • Partner with the semiconductor sourcing organization to secure silicon supply, capacity, and commercial terms for the portfolio’s electronic content and ensure sub-tier requirements are represented in category and program decisions.
  • Drive supplier quality and warranty performance improvement with Supplier Quality and Quality Engineering, including defects-per-million reduction, early-life warranty improvement, launch performance, elimination of supplier-caused vehicles held from shipment, and recovery of supplier-caused warranty, field service action, and manufacturing costs.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply to global production and service operations by leading escalation response and permanent corrective action for distressed and critical suppliers.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for strategic suppliers by leading executive business reviews, driving quality, cost, delivery, and resilience improvement plans, unlocking co-innovation, and improving supplier relationships and sentiment.
  • Ensure compliance with local-content, regional-value-content, trade, tariff, and regulatory requirements, and champion responsible and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Build the team by cascading objectives, delivering candid performance feedback, owning organization and talent reviews and succession planning, upskilling the organization on cost and negotiation capability, and driving adoption of artificial intelligence and digital tools to improve decision quality and speed.
  • Act as a change leader for the broader Supply Chain function by simplifying processes, eliminating waste, and moving faster.

UPS, Pfizer, Kraft Heinz and Ford dividends at risk as payouts outstrip earnings

Four blue chip companies, UPS, Pfizer, Kraft Heinz, and Ford, may struggle to sustain their dividends, according to an analysis of their earnings, cash flow, and debt. UPS yields 7.02% and pays out about 121% of its GAAP earnings. Pfizer yields 6.10%, with a GAAP payout ratio of about 226%; its 2025 free cash flow of $9.076 billion fell short of $9.771 billion in dividends. Kraft Heinz yields 6.82%, but its trailing GAAP earnings per share are −$2.88 after $7.4 billion in impairments. Ford yields 4.98% after an $8.162 billion loss in 2025, and its debt-to-equity ratio is 4.66. All four companies say their payouts are safe, and each points to adjusted earnings guidance that covers the dividend.

Seven S&P 500 stocks need 200%+ rallies to reclaim all-time highs

Seven major S&P 500 companies with market capitalizations exceeding $20 billion need to rally at least 200% to reach their previous all-time highs, according to Bespoke. The struggling firms include PG&E, PayPal, Ford, Nike, Las Vegas Sands, Zoetis, and Crown Castle. Nike has experienced particularly poor performance, with the company's stock trading at record lows and its dividend yield approaching 5%. Recent quarterly results showed Nike Brand sales fell 4%, online sales dropped 13%, Converse sales declined 28%, and China sales crashed 26%. CEO Elliott Hill indicated that weakness in the sportswear market would persist. PayPal faces intense competition in the payments sector. New CEO Enrique Lores reportedly declined a buyout offer from Stripe and will focus on cost reductions and improving customer experience.

Ford CEO warns it's 'too late' for Europe as Chinese automakers seize 12% market share through hybrid loophole

Ford CEO Jim Farley warned on 29 September that it is "too late" for Europe to fend off Chinese automakers, though America still has time to act carefully. Chinese brands captured nearly 12% of Europe's new-car sales in August, largely through plug-in hybrids that escaped 2024 tariffs on battery-electric vehicles. Farley's warning comes as Ford partners with Geely to build electric SUVs at Ford's Valencia plant starting in 2028. Ford will own two-thirds of the venture. The arrangement mirrors a framework Farley reportedly raised with Trump officials in January, allowing Chinese carmakers to build in the US only through American-controlled joint ventures. Chinese EVs sell for 21% less than rivals in Europe despite tariffs. BYD's Seagull retails for roughly $10,000 in China.
