Transportation Engineer - PM Bridge
About the job
- Requires 8–15 years of experience in bridge design engineering.
- Experience with applicable software, including OpenBridge, MicroStation, AutoCAD, LEAP Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, AssetWise, HEC-RAS, and Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn additional software or programs as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a favorable driving record.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required safety certifications and client pre-qualifications, including DOT and Turnpike requirements.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Prepare structural designs and detailing for bridges and culverts.
- Produce plans and specifications for bridges and culverts.
- Prepare bridge type studies and similar reports.
- Complete load-rating analyses of bridges.
- Assist with oversight of entry-level engineers and budgeting of work tasks.
- Provide design assistance during construction, answer contractor questions, and review shop drawings.
- Coordinate with other engineers and surveyors on project requirements.
- Provide civil engineering drafting support for site, roadway, and traffic work as needed.
- Apply design standards, standard drawings, and CAD requirements for DOT and local agencies.
- Participate in periodic industry events and related marketing activities.
- Travel as needed, minimally, to perform field measurements.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred, or Engineering Intern (E.I.) certification with the ability to obtain a PE license within six months.
