Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training is required.
  • The employee must be able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • The employee must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • The employee must be able to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • The employee must be able to apply probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The employee must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet software is required.
  • The employee must meet the position's physical demands, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, occasional climbing or balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Assist business units with the introduction of new and re-engineered products.
  • Establish procedures, instructions, and training to support new metal products.
  • Ensure that new and re-engineered processes are manufacturing-ready.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing quality specifications and testing for metals components, supplier components, subassemblies, and finished goods.
  • Assist in resolving daily production and quality issues.
  • Interact with business units and customers as required to identify process and product improvements and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize and continuously improve metals operations by identifying and implementing quality and productivity improvements for products.
  • Identify improvements to ensure continued compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and with UL, FDA, and ISO 9002 requirements.
  • Read and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Work safely and cooperatively with coworkers.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
