- An optician’s license is required.

- Greet patients professionally, cheerfully, and in a timely manner.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain authorizations.
- Pull previous files and update patient demographics as needed.
- Verify that HIPAA and privacy signatures are obtained.
- Answer phones promptly and professionally.
- Make appointments for lens technician and insertion-and-removal training.
- Take messages and follow through.
- Handle customer needs and requests efficiently.
- Assist patients with frame selection.
- Demonstrate product knowledge.
- Perform prescription analysis and guide patients to products and materials suitable for their prescriptions.
- Accurately price orders.
- Adjust and fit eyewear.
- Resolve patient issues with eyewear.
- Perform insertion-and-removal training for contact lens wearers.
- Order frames, lenses, and contact lenses.
- Accurately post charges in Intergy.
- Collect monies and post payments.
- Balance and lock the journal each day.
- Create a journal for the next day.
- Secure the deposit at the end of the day.
- Log off Intergy and the computer before leaving.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Empty the HIPAA container into the destruction bin.
- Restock frames at the end of the day.
- Dust frame shelves monthly.
- Keep up with daily filing.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
