Requirements
  • High School education or GED.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation, a good driving record, and car insurance.
  • Must have completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis skin test.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow directions and listen to the needs of patients and doctors.
  • Must be able to perform the required physical activities, including standing, walking, pushing, stooping, lifting as applicable to the specialty, and pushing patients in wheelchairs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours when required.
  • Must be able to work with possible exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and protected health information guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians at assigned long-term care facilities with audiology, optometry, podiatry, and behavioral health care.
  • Complete chart preparation for scheduled patients before every visit.
  • Verify and maintain current and accurate clinical records, charts, and medical histories through electronic medical records during patient visits.
  • Ensure the integrity of all documentation.
  • Complete end-of-visit reports on the day of the visit and share them with management.
  • Provide daily feedback and work with the branch office to optimize scheduling and reporting.
  • Coordinate and maintain patient flow during facility visits, including removing socks and shoes and pushing wheelchairs when necessary.
  • Balance and generate daily production reports and provide them to the manager on the day of the visit.
  • Post charges accurately to the appropriate provider in a timely manner.
  • Work in the medical office capacity provided by the facility.
  • Care for and clean medical equipment at the end of every visit.
  • Maintain medical supplies inventory by auditing stock, determining inventory levels, anticipating supply needs, and placing and expediting supply orders.
  • Manage resources by preparing supplies with minimal waste and avoiding duplication.
  • Ensure medical equipment is functioning properly by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer instructions.
  • Clean the service area used at the facility before departing each visit.
  • Respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner and document conversations in the electronic medical record.
  • Travel to and from assigned medical facilities as required.
  • Support and comply with all components of the compliance program, including completing training and reporting suspected violations of law or company policy.
