Requirements
  • 8+ years of engineering expertise, at least two of which in a lead or management role
  • Consistent track record of architecting, developing, releasing and supporting important software components
  • Proficiency in C++, Objective-C, Swift, HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, Delivery & Testing tools and processes
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide teams through ambiguous and complex technical challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly
  • Passion to collaborate and iterate on ideas in a multi-functional team
Responsibilities
  • Manage and guide an existing team of Native and Web engineers through life-cycle deliveries across multiple timezones
  • Partner directly with clients such as Find My, Weather, Photos, and other 3rd party developers
  • Lead key software initiatives, guiding multiple engineers across the Maps organization
  • Collaborate with product managers to define the API roadmap, prioritize features, and align with business objectives and corporate philosophies
Desired Qualifications
  • BS in CS or related technical field
  • Experience with API design and/or building software components for use by external teams
  • Experience mentoring direct reports to help them advance in their career and navigate through challenges and goals
  • Familiarity with SwiftUI, UIKit, React and/or Node.js
