Requirements
  • Must be board eligible or board certified as a Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant.
  • Must hold a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as determined by the job location.
  • Physician Assistants must hold current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Must maintain required continuing medical education.
  • Must be able to perform the listed physical and sensory activities, including prolonged sitting and standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, bending, reaching, handling, grasping, twisting, hearing, seeing, and speaking.
Responsibilities
  • Provide healthcare services under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician, including medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, referrals, diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescribing.
  • Advocate for patients and participate in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assess, treat, counsel, and educate patients and their families.
  • Evaluate patients and perform physical examinations, including obtaining, studying, and updating medical histories.
  • Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, including radiologic and laboratory studies, and accurately interpret test results.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement patient management and treatment plans based on assessed needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate patient care with healthcare professionals and institutions.
  • Provide healthcare based on best-practice and evidence-based medicine.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures aligned with granted clinical privileges.
  • Conduct virtual care services when requested, including live interactive clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, and escalation of care.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, professional networks, professional societies, and continuing medical education.
  • Participate in researching, developing, implementing, and tracking clinical management guidelines.
  • Teach multidisciplinary students and physician residents and fellows while maintaining a positive educational environment.
  • Participate in Advanced Practitioner student clinical rotation preceptorship when assigned.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and outcomes, customer and service improvement, operational systems and processes, and safety.
  • Use the electronic medical record and maintain documentation that supports billing for professional services.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Perform routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients.
  • Coordinate patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies when appropriate.
  • Teach wellness habits and educate patients about prevention and management of health problems, including providing relevant information and materials.
  • Provide occupational health services in the urgent care setting, including pre-employment physicals, injury care, and workers’ compensation cases and follow-ups.
