About the Job

Requirements

  • A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in senior technical roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20), including RAII, smart pointers, the Standard Template Library, concurrency, and memory management.
  • Strong experience with multithreading, synchronization primitives, asynchronous input/output, and real-time system design.
  • Proficiency with CMake and Visual Studio build systems and cross-platform development for Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience with performance profiling, optimization, and low-latency systems.
  • Understanding of software architecture principles and secure, scalable system design.
  • Good understanding of unit and integration testing techniques and testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, and security.
  • Practical experience developing systems for power grid management and monitoring.
  • Understanding of power grid operations and applicable standards.
  • Practical experience working directly with power grid industry clients.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical designs.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system designs addressing multithreading, synchronization, input/output, and latency requirements for real-time operation.
  • Develop high-performance C++ cores that connect to managed runtime services such as .NET and Rust with minimal latency overhead.
  • Optimize performance and scalability by profiling threading behavior, minimizing lock contention, reducing memory allocations in critical paths, and ensuring predictable latency at scale.
  • Apply modern programming practices and techniques based on the latest C++ standard.
  • Maintain code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to SOLID, KISS, DRY, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in system design, establish best practices, and maintain code quality in performance-critical sections.
  • Participate in technical architecture reviews, prepare design documentation, and contribute to feature-development roadmaps, refactoring initiatives, and legacy-code modernization.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear architectural designs.
  • Support strategic technology decisions concerning dependencies, build tooling, dependency management, and secure software supply-chain practices.
  • Maintain cross-platform support by modernizing build systems, ensuring consistency across deployment environments, and supporting Linux and Windows compatibility.
  • Use practical Linux development and deployment strategies.
  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions that contribute to business goals.
  • Enhance existing systems and contribute to creating new features.
  • Work effectively in an agile environment while expanding technical expertise and understanding of the business domain.
  • Participate in a cross-disciplinary team and contribute to shared objectives.

Desired Qualifications

  • Practical knowledge of Rust development.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems, including SCADA, IED, or RTU.
  • Experience with industrial protocols and standards, including IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA, or IEEE C37.118.
