Requirements
  • Possess a Kansas Certified Court Reporter certification or be eligible to obtain a temporary certificate in compliance with applicable Kansas Supreme Court rules.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have formal training in machine shorthand or a voice writing program.
Responsibilities
  • Report judicial proceedings verbatim at high rates of speed.
  • Prepare complete and accurate reports of proceedings and verbatim transcripts as required.
  • Maintain electronic backup storage of proceedings.
  • Keep all exhibits in possession until otherwise instructed by the Court.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the chief judge or managing reporter.
  • Perform all work in accordance with procedures established by the district judges and clerk of the court.
  • Review completed work for accuracy and content.
