  • A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Four to seven or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate daily with a multilingual project team and contractors.
  • Ability to demonstrate engineering and field-supervision capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction, including all phases of construction, testing, and inspections.
  • Strong critical-thinking and adaptability skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active passport and European work visa.
  • Ability to learn and use conversational German.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop the project safety plan with corporate safety and provide job-site leadership.
  • Develop project controls and procedures for complex project requirements and take ownership of mitigating high-risk contract items.
  • Manage project financial forecasts, notice provisions, and billings, and take corrective action for deviations in project performance.
  • Create and manage project-specific quality and closeout plans aligned with owner contracts and contract documents, and assist with execution.
  • Provide leadership and direct supervision of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities.
  • Develop subcontracting strategies; review and write scopes and deliverables; implement and enforce contracts; lead risk-mitigation planning; and prepare draft contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Manage insurance and bond enrollment and the compliance process for trade contractors.
  • Lead project estimates and manage the project and estimating teams to meet contractual obligations.
  • Lead project constructability and coordination reviews.
  • Create critical-path-method schedules for large or complex projects, recognize schedule impacts, and draft prevention and mitigation plans.
  • Develop local-market knowledge and lead a networking strategy.
  • Collaborate with business development on sales strategies, performance metrics, pursuits, and client deliverables, and strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships.
  • Oversee quality-control technicians in executing quality-plan requirements.
  • Update and distribute the quality-control manager plan as needed to address field or team revisions.
  • Provide career development and coaching for team members.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that motivates and engages team members.
  • Interpret and translate organizational strategy so the team understands its role in achieving strategic goals.
Desired Qualifications
  • DoD construction experience, including firm-fixed-price design-build construction.
  • Experience with large projects valued at $50 million to $100 million or more.
  • Experience using Bluebeam and CxAlloy.
  • Strong electrical, low-voltage, and cybersecurity experience.

Gilbane building 308 Raleigh Student Housing units. News | September 25, 2026 | Mike Boyd Atlanta & Southeast + Student Housing Gilbane Development recently received the green light from the Raleigh City Council to build a 7-story, 308-unit student housing project near North Carolina State University. Site plans show there will be 98 one-bedroom units, 104 two-bedroom units, 32 three-bedroom units and 74 four- and five-bedroom units. The property is 3.61 acres and currently holds the Rhyne's Gate apartments (shown). The Triangle Business Journal reports that Rhyne's Gate apartments have 48 affordable housing units that will be replaced with the student housing project. Gilbane Development must provide a 120-day written notice of early lease termination and a one-time relocation assistance payment of $2,500 per unit. A number of NC State student housing projects have been proposed. Peerless Development has proposed a 713-bed development on Crest Road, and RPM Living has plans for a 130-unit student housing project on Horne Street.

Gilbane-Led development team reaches financial close on Phase I of Bronx affordable complex. News | June 22, 2026 | Paul Bubny New York & Tri-State + Apartment Buildings Gilbane, in partnership with Strada Development LLC and the Center for Urban Community Services, has reached financial close for 1920 Turnbull, a $170-million-plus affordable and supportive housing development located at 1920 Turnbull Ave. in the Castle Hill/Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx. Located at 1931 Lafayette Ave., 1920 Turnbull will deliver a 22-story building with 228 affordable rental apartments, including 137 permanent supportive housing units for formerly homeless individuals and families. The development team includes Gilbane Development as lead development partner, Strada Development LLC as co-developer, and CUCS as co-developer and service provider. Gilbane Building will serve as general contractor, with Magnusson Architecture and Planning as architect and AKRF as civil engineer. 1920 Turnbull is the first of two planned buildings, with Phase 2 set to add 207 additional affordable apartments, including 15% designated as permanent supportive housing. Phase 2 is expected to close within the next year pending city approvals.
