Requirements
  • 2+ years of relevant & direct hands-on experience with shock and vibration testing required.
  • Experience troubleshoot and diagnosing off-nominal vibration scenarios.
  • B.S. degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program (Mechanical, or Physics desired)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering data, drawings, standards and technical requirements
  • Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations
  • Weekend shifts or overtime are frequently required for particular tasks or test series
  • Position level commensurate with experience
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Experience with the following: test stand operations, major system operations, working with similar test equipment (vibration tables)
  • Experience in production and/or test systems are preferred
  • Hands on test and production facility, factory or laboratory experience
  • Experience where quick-thinking and problem solving plays a critical role
  • Experience with aerospace structural, mechanical or propulsion systems assembly and testing
  • Ability to utilize test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells, relays, solenoid valves, etc.
  • Experience working directly with high energy systems (6k psi pressure, High voltage and cryogenics)
  • NI Labview / TestStand experience
  • CREO, Matlab and Ansys experience
Responsibilities
  • Conduct hands-on shock, vibration, thermal, humidity and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016 and MIL-STD-1540
  • Operate test consoles and work with a team of engineers & technicians to execute component level testing
  • Ensure all operations are performed safely, on time and in a professional manner
  • Work with test, flight and safety critical hardware, tools and shop equipment
  • Setup and safely operate high energy systems (e.g. high pressure gases, cryogenics and electrical)
  • Operate and maintain environmental test equipment including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, vibration systems and instrumentation
  • Conduct and/or oversee several test projects simultaneously while supporting operation schedules
  • Configure test setups, fixtures and instrumentation per test plans and standards
  • Review test documentation for test readiness
  • Maintain cleanliness of test equipment and test lab
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate cost, schedule and technical risks
  • Participate in Process/Job Hazard Assessments/Test Readiness Reviews
