Requirements
  • Experience in service, sales, telesales, or guest-relations work is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must pass appropriate security clearances under company policy.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, see, hear, read, concentrate, think, learn, and communicate as required for the role.
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours and walk or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate the property management system to post charges, compute bills, collect payments, and make change.
  • Must have problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Must be able to multitask while remaining focused on associate and guest service.
  • Must be able to communicate with guests and coworkers, receive and transmit mail, phone, and written messages, and relay pertinent information using communication log books.
  • Must assist with guest issues professionally while maintaining a hospitable attitude.
  • Must be willing to work any day or shift, including weekends.
  • Must maintain required certification from a responsible authority.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while following hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue.
  • Support total front-office operations and act as Manager on Duty when needed or scheduled.
  • Respond immediately to guest requests and maintain thorough communication with management staff.
  • Greet and register guests, assign rooms, maintain guest privacy, and accommodate special requests when possible.
  • Promote and sell hotel services and amenities.
  • Promote repeat business by taking future reservations and recommending alternate same-brand products.
  • Identify potential sales leads through guest interactions and report them to the appropriate person.
  • Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of special requests, late checkouts, and special-needs areas.
  • Check credit cards for validity before the end of the shift.
  • Learn and use the property management system.
  • Ensure cash, checks, and miscellaneous departments are balanced at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in food and beverage, housekeeping, laundry, cleanliness, and other hotel areas as needed for guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and professional lobby, dining area, and market area.
  • Follow emergency procedures and safety standards, and report or correct hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Report unusual occurrences or guest requests to the manager.
  • Use the Service Recovery Log and other required communication logs for shift-to-shift handoffs.
  • Follow approved laundry procedures and assist with washer, dryer, and linen-folding duties where applicable.
  • Perform other assigned duties, including assisting in laundry, housekeeping, or food and beverage departments.
