Requirements
  • An MD/DO or equivalent international degree, current board certification in Dermatology, and licensed or eligible to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • An academic career trajectory with increasing levels of administrative responsibilities, ideally culminating in serving as Chair, Vice Chair, Chief or other senior leadership role for a Department of Dermatology.
  • A demonstrated ability to advance tripartite clinical, education, and research missions – including a strong record of teaching and program administration; leading care quality improvement initiatives; supporting the growth, development, mentorship, and well-being of faculty, clinicians, and trainees; and facilitating research with a working understanding of the supporting infrastructure and nuances of clinical research.
  • Experience with the operational and financial management aspects of administering a department, including prior responsibilities for budget management, strategic planning, and resource management.
  • A record of scholarship and academic accomplishments which merits appointment at the rank of associate or full professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all departmental programs, including an ACGME-accredited Dermatology residency and Dermatopathology fellowship, ensuring outstanding education, clinical training, and research opportunities for the Department’s residents and fellows, as well as students at the Medical College.
  • Oversee a growing academic practice and ensure exceptional care is provided at the Department’s 3 outpatient offices and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital – Jefferson Health’s flagship quaternary care hospital and the University’s primary teaching hospital.
  • Lead and manage the Department’s 11 clinical faculty, 3 advanced practice providers, 13 residents and fellows, and 2 histotechnologists.
  • Play a key strategic role in driving systemness for Jefferson Health, scaling the value proposition of the growing health system while ensuring delivery of high-quality care aligned with network standards and patient expectations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in advancing health equity and diversity, equity, and inclusion within a health system or academic medical center.
  • Proven ability to strategize patient access enhancements and standardize clinical care across a dermatology program.
  • Demonstrated interest or track record in expanding clinical and translational research opportunities, including clinical trials within dermatology.
  • Strong record of faculty development, recruitment, and mentorship in an academic dermatology setting.
  • Eligibility for appointment at the rank of associate or full professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
