Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience related to automotive assembly technology supervision is required.
  • Knowledge of Controller Area Network software is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Suite is required.
  • Good project management and problem-solving skills are required.
  • The ability to work independently and any shift, including overtime, is required.
  • The ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and travel domestically and internationally is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise salaried bargaining-unit process engineers developing process tooling for trim, chassis, and final operations from vehicle design concept through in-plant vehicle launch.
  • Champion data-driven decisions.
  • Manage complex projects from beginning to end while meeting project budget and timing targets.
  • Manage issues and drive root-cause analysis using Fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, Pareto charts, histograms, Six Sigma, and Red X.
  • Direct design-for-manufacturing concepts throughout projects and develop a team atmosphere that empowers direct reports to take ownership of their processes.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automotive technology is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of supervision experience in automotive manufacturing assembly is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in Focused Problem Solving using Kaizen methodology is preferred.
  • Experience in electrical and/or torque is strongly desired.
  • Experience with vehicle Controller Area Network and CAN-FD networks and diagnostic tools is preferred.
