Responsibilities

  • Design advanced isolated and non-isolated power conversion circuits.
  • Develop system-level power architectures and converter specifications.
  • Perform advanced simulation, modeling, and analysis of power electronics designs.
  • Lead design verification, qualification, and root cause investigations.
  • Provide technical leadership during design reviews and customer presentations.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Guide printed circuit board layout activities and establish power electronics design best practices.
  • Evaluate technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support proposal development, technical estimating, and customer quote activities.

TT Electronics extends Rolls-Royce partnership with lifetime power electronics contract. Published: 21 August 2026 UK electronics manufacturer TT Electronics has extended its long-standing relationship with Rolls-Royce through a multi-million-pound agreement covering the supply of power electronics for large civil aircraft engines. Under the lifetime contract, TT Electronics' facilities in Bedlington and Barnstaple will supply high-reliability power electronics solutions for all large civil aircraft engines over their operational lifetimes. The agreement further establishes the company as a long-term design and manufacturing partner for Rolls-Royce across performance-critical aerospace applications. The supplied technology includes multi-chip power modules and precision magnetics, which TT Electronics describes as mission-critical components responsible for controlling engine operation. The electronics are therefore required to meet demanding requirements for reliability and performance throughout extended aircraft service lives. Rob Relph, Executive Vice President, Power Division at TT Electronics, said: "This agreement is a reflection of the trust we've built together in the UK over four decades and our shared ambition to advance technology and improve engine performance." The agreement builds on more than 40 years of collaboration between the two UK companies and provides TT Electronics with a continuing role in the supply chain for Rolls-Royce's large civil aerospace programmes. TT Electronics specialises in power electronics and electronic manufacturing services across the product lifecycle. Its aerospace and defence activities encompass ruggedised power conversion, magnetics, microelectronics, cable and interconnect technologies for aviation, air mobility, land, naval and air-defence applications. The lifetime arrangement highlights the importance of dependable power electronics in modern aircraft propulsion, where electronic systems must maintain performance under demanding operating conditions while supporting long-term service and maintenance requirements. TT Electronics said the agreement strengthens its position as a trusted supplier of high-reliability electronics and lifetime support for regulated, performance-critical aerospace programmes. The company also recently extended its partnership with MBDA Italia through signing a Letter of Intent that strengthens their collaboration and provides a platform to explore future opportunities. Sweeping changes at TT Electronics after £287m takeover collapse. Directors to stand down as former Airbus and BAE figure appointed next chair, while next CFO also named by listed firm TT Electronics plc has named its next chair and CFO, while two non-executive directors are to stand down. The listed firm saw a proposed £287 million takeover by Swiss electronics group Cicor collapse earlier this year after shareholders voted against the deal. In the wake of that development, TT chairman Warren Tucker confirmed plans to step down as chairman in May after serving two three-year terms. Now it has confirmed that Phil Swash will succeed him with effect from the end of TT's Annual General Meeting, to be held on 15th May. Swash is a highly experienced chairman and CEO with a distinguished career in global engineering businesses including Airbus, BAE Systems, GKN, Latecoere and Survitec. He brings deep expertise in aerospace, defence, automotive and marine sectors. Swash is currently the non-executive chairman of Survitec Group Ltd and non-executive director of Cael Nova AG. Swash said: "I believe that TT Electronics has huge potential, I am excited by the opportunity and look forward to working closely with Eric and the rest of the TT Board in contributing to the business and its growth strategy." After two three-year terms as chair of the audit committee and more recently as senior independent director, Anne Thorburn has informed the TT board of her intention to stand down. She will remain on the board in her current capacity until her successor has been recruited and has offered herself for re-election at the company's upcoming AGM. In addition, after completing a three-year term as a non-executive director, Mick Ord has informed the board that he will not offer himself for re-election at the AGM to concentrate on his other business activities. TT said this morning that it will welcome Ian Ashton as CFO in the coming months. He has served as CFO at SIG plc, a supplier of specialist insulation and sustainable building products and solutions, since July 2020. "I am delighted to welcome Phil to TT Electronics," said Eric Lakin, CEO. "He has a wealth of industry experience and he brings an in-depth knowledge of the aerospace and defence sector. "He joins us at a time when we continue to execute on our strategic direction and strong platform for growth, underpinned by our four priorities of divisional realignment, cost reduction, sales transformation and portfolio optimisation." Tucker said: "Since Covid TT and the board have been required to navigate a number of challenges; Mick and Anne have been pivotal in doing so and have worked relentlessly to use their expertise, business experience and judgement to help put TT in the best possible position to succeed. "On behalf of the board and the company, I would like to express our huge gratitude for their service, and also thank Anne for agreeing to remain until her successor has been recruited."

TT Electronics cuts debt by $38M, shifts to divisional structure amid transition year

TT Electronics reported fiscal 2025 revenue of £481.4 million, down 2.7% organically, but improved profitability with adjusted operating profit rising 2.2% to £37.2 million and margins expanding 30 basis points to 7.7%. The company generated strong cash flow of £29.9 million and reduced net debt by almost £30 million to £50.3 million, cutting leverage to 1.1x from 1.8x. CEO Eric Lakin described 2025 as a "year of transition", marked by operational actions including closing the loss-making Plano site and stabilising the Cleveland facility. European aerospace and defence revenues grew 12%, offsetting weakness in North American and Asian EMS markets. For 2026, TT is restructuring into three divisions and targeting £5 million in gross cost savings. The company expects revenue and adjusted operating profit in line with market consensus.

Cicor acquires TT Electronics for £287M

Swiss electronics manufacturer Cicor Technologies Ltd. will acquire British rival TT Electronics Plc in a cash and share deal valued at approximately £287 million. TT shareholders will receive 100 pence in cash and 0.0028 new Cicor shares per TT share, valuing each TT share at 155 pence, a 64% premium. The deal will create the largest global EMS provider in the high-mix, low-volume sector. The combined company is expected to have revenues of over CHF 1.2 billion (£1.1 billion).
