Requirements
  • Experience in DevOps automation and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to design, implement, and enhance deployment automation based on Chef with proven experience writing chef recipes/cookbooks as well as designing and implementing an overall Chef based release and deployment process
  • Experience using Jenkins to orchestrate application release and integration with tools Sonar, Chef, Maven, Artifactory, etc. to build out the CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience supporting deployments of code into multiple lower environments and automating processes
  • Experience designing and implementing a Git-based code management strategy that supports multiple environment deployments in parallel; experience with automation for branch management, code promotions, and version management is a plus
  • Ability to analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns
  • Experience supporting services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews
  • Experience maintaining services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
  • Experience scaling systems sustainably through automation and evolving systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
  • Experience supporting the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating
  • Experience practicing sustainable incident response and blameless post-mortems
  • Ability to take a holistic approach to problem solving across technology stacks during production events to optimize mean time to recover
  • Experience working with a global team across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Experience sharing knowledge and mentoring junior resources
  • Ability to perform on-call duties on a rotational basis and occasional off-hours work
  • Technical qualifications: good understanding of ITIL/ITSM principles and practice, Software Development Lifecycle, Distributed Compute, Network Concepts, Middleware & Runtime Environments, Stack Trace Analysis, Load balancers and application firewalls, Chef, Jenkins, Groovy, Shell/Powershell scripting, Version Control Systems such as GIT/SVN, DevOps concepts & tooling, Resiliency/HA/BCP, Caching/CDN concepts, Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code, Cloud concepts, Logging and Monitoring methods and tools
Responsibilities
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement
  • Design, implement, and enhance deployment automation based on Chef with proven experience writing chef recipes/cookbooks and implementing a Chef-based release and deployment process
  • Use Jenkins to orchestrate application release and integration with tools Sonar, Chef, Maven, Artifactory, etc. to build out the CI/CD pipeline
  • Support deployments of code into multiple lower environments, emphasizing automation
  • Design and implement a Git-based code management strategy that will support multiple environment deployments in parallel; experience with automation for branch management, code promotions, and version management is a plus
  • Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns
