  • Eligibility for a California Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license and board certification.
  • Eligibility for a Drug Enforcement Administration license.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Ability to communicate via telephone, video, and/or in person.
  • Vision adequate to read documents, computer screens, and forms.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and view computer screens for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel locally and long distance as needed.
  • Ability to move around offices and clinics as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Take patient histories and perform complete physical examinations in clinics and mobile health sites.
  • Assess the clinical status of patients.
  • Order and perform laboratory and screening tests in accordance with approved protocols or standardized procedures.
  • Consult with physician preceptors.
  • Formulate problem lists based on clinical findings and plan and coordinate care.
  • Recommend and administer treatment or medications as approved.
  • Evaluate patient care according to adopted protocols and Quality Assurance program criteria.
  • Teach patients, families, and staff care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain a wide variety of records and reports.
  • Accurately record patient history, examination notes, medication history, ongoing care, and referrals in medical records according to the established format.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and Quality Assurance activities as required.
  • Respond to patient or coworker complaints and work toward a positive resolution of disputes.
  • Serve as a member of site committees as requested.
  • Identify problems related to patient services and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities designated by preceptors.
