Requirements
  • 5+ years of current experience in technical consulting or sales engineering
  • Splunk Certified Core Consultant preferred
  • Splunk Accredited Splunk Cloud Fundamentals Consultant preferred
  • Splunk Cloud experience and worked with either on-premise or cloud customers in excess of 1TB ingest and/or 20,000 hosts
  • Knowledge of Splunk administration and SPL
  • Strong open systems application and infrastructure knowledge
  • Clear understanding of network and system management solutions
  • Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand sophisticated problems and how it relates to the customer’s business
  • Experience with both the Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface
  • Solid grasp or recent experience with scripting languages (bash), application development (java, python, .NET), databases and analytical tools
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools, at least two of the following: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform
  • Experience with cloud providers: AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Ability to stop, collaborate and listen with technical and non-technical consumers from application developers to executive level partners
  • Self-motivated and self-educating, always interested in keeping up with technology and improving oneself
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% globally
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the top minds in the IT Ops space, and partner with development and product management team members to redefine how customers manage, monitor and analyze their infrastructure, their applications, and their business services.
  • Collaborate with individuals across the company from Product Management, Product Marketing, Professional Services, Sales, Sales Engineering, Technical Enablement, Education, Customer Success Management, and Support.
  • Be comfortable working with customers to help them define their future architectural roadmap as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead all aspects of the adoption, optimization and integration of Splunk’s IT Ops & Observability solutions into the customers’ business architecture.
  • Be successful working with all levels of an organization from the C-suite down to individual developers and SRE’s.
  • Collaborate across the entire Splunk organization to bring access to product and technical teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation from customer input.
  • Enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own
  • Good corporate citizen – two-way flow of relevant and timely information; work as a team for the most efficient use and deployment of resources
  • Embrace continuous learning, maintain up-to-date Splunk product certifications, functional knowledge, and industry best practices
