Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in media, advertising, data analytics, or business operations, preferably in a digital media environment.
  • Deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystems, including programmatic and direct-sold channels.
  • Strong experience with data tools and platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Excel, SQL, BigQuery).
  • Proven ability to develop strategies from complex data sets and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Passion for automation, innovation, and building scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive advertising data strategy in partnership with Ad Innovation, Revenue Strategy, Data Product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Drive cross functional projects including Site experience evaluation and Ad revenue modeling.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on advertising metrics, systems, and workflows.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment on data collection, reporting structures, and metric definitions.
  • Architect and implement a Holistic Yield strategy that spans across direct and programmatic channels.
  • Define best practices around yield measurement, reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • Analyze ad product performance, produce regular reports and dashboards, and guide the product roadmap based on insights.
  • Partner with Yield, Ops, and Product teams to inform decisions about product development and optimization.
  • Translate business objectives into detailed data requirements and reporting frameworks.
  • Act as the GTM (Go-To-Market) partner for Ad Innovation, providing performance forecasts and modeling for new product launches.
  • Manage the advertising metrics dictionary and data integrity standards across departments.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and recurring reports (e.g., Quarterly Business Reviews, Capacity Reports, Video Reporting).
  • Create scalable, automated workflows to handle data requests, ad hoc analysis, and strategic priorities.
  • Manage a team of analysts.
  • Audit and refine all advertising data pipelines and reporting assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Drive cross-functional knowledge sharing and training initiatives for analysts and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and third-party data teams to troubleshoot and improve dashboards and models.
  • Own relationships with key data partners such as DataBeat and BI Data stakeholders.

Business Insider hires two senior tech reporters to cover AI and robotics

Business Insider has hired two senior tech reporters to strengthen its AI and emerging technology coverage in San Francisco. Stephen Council joins from SFGATE, where he covered AI, labour and Bay Area companies. He will focus on large language model companies including OpenAI and Anthropic. Council has written for The Information, The Wall Street Journal and CNBC, and received recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists and San Francisco Press Club. Rya Jetha arrives from The San Francisco Standard, where she covered tech culture and autonomous vehicles. She will report on physical AI and robotics. Jetha holds degrees in history and politics from Pomona College and the University of Cambridge. Both reporters begin on 4 May.

Travis Kalanick, former Uber CEO, has moved from California to Texas, he revealed on the "TBPN" podcast on Friday. Kalanick said he became a primary resident of Texas on 18 December 2025. The Los Angeles native joins a growing list of tech billionaires relocating from California to states like Texas and Florida, citing favourable tax policies and business regulations. Elon Musk moved to Texas in 2020, relocating Tesla's headquarters to Austin and announcing SpaceX would move its headquarters to Starship, Texas in 2024. Oracle similarly moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin in 2020. The tech boom has attracted billions in investment to Texas, particularly Austin, dubbed "Silicon Hills". Google announced a $40 billion investment plan through 2027 for Texas data centres and campuses.
