Responsibilities
  • Supervise and oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Managed Care status reports on individual and consolidated bases.
  • Manage timely implementation and renewal of new and existing contracts, including contract terms and negotiations for AHMC contracts.
  • Notify Ethos and MSO of changes, including rates, and ensure IMaCS and Rapid Reserves are updated when contracts are implemented.
  • Manage and maintain AHMC’s financial reporting database and serve as Avega’s super database administrator.
  • Coordinate managed care planning, direction, negotiation, renegotiation, analysis, maintenance, and implementation of agreements with current and prospective purchasers and providers of healthcare services.
  • Coordinate with Ethos management, hospital administration, and staff regarding managed care contract implementation, evaluation, and compliance.
  • Ensure current rates are entered into IMaCS and Rapid Reserves and update T&C with revised Terms and Conditions.
  • Serve as the primary resource for issues identified by Ethos.
  • Manage operational issues, including performance improvement and contract negotiations, and provide ongoing negotiation updates regarding HMOs.
  • Assist hospital management with managed care, employee health plans, and patient care service-line issues.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key physician organizations directing most medical care in the market.
  • Evaluate the strategic value of physician organizations and make recommendations based on financial implications.
  • Partner with hospital Business Development on managed care activities.
  • Develop short- and long-term Managed Care objectives that support strategic objectives.
  • Develop and present Managed Care strategy briefings and reports during monthly operations review meetings.
  • Develop quality indicators to monitor Managed Care activities and analyze profit and loss on all Managed Care contracts.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards through professional symposia, networking, and community outreach participation.
  • Conduct educational meetings or in-service sessions as requested.
  • Attend department-specific education, training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings as requested.
  • Recruit qualified personnel to meet departmental needs.
  • Counsel employees on personnel and employee-relations issues.
  • Participate in employee-recognition programs.
  • Handle compliance and financial and operational reporting for capitation agreements through participation in Joint Operation Committee meetings.
  • Comply with AHMC’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with financial planning and reporting systems, including Avega, EZ Cap, and Crystal Reports.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience in managed care modeling and/or financial analyses.
