  • Relevant training in occupational health and safety, construction, prevention, environment, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in occupational health and safety prevention, ideally on construction or infrastructure sites.
  • Practical experience in site inspection and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of accident-prevention principles and hazard identification.
  • Knowledge of safe work methods and prevention measures applicable to construction-site activities.
  • Experience following up on non-conformities and corrective measures.
  • Experience writing inspection reports, observations, and occupational health and safety follow-ups.
  • Knowledge of personal protective equipment and collective protection measures.
  • Knowledge of Quebec regulatory requirements applicable to occupational health and safety on construction sites.
  • Ability to intervene with workers, contractors, and subcontractors to enforce prevention measures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Very good spoken and written French; functional English is an asset.
  • Ability to work in the field in dynamic environments and collaborate with different stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular visits and inspections on construction sites to identify situations presenting health and safety risks.
  • Verify the application of prevention measures and safe work procedures.
  • Educate workers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors about prevention best practices.
  • Monitor the wearing and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Verify working conditions, access points, traffic areas, signage, and collective protection measures.
  • Identify dangerous situations and intervene promptly to correct observed deficiencies.
  • Document observations, non-conformities, incidents, and corrective measures.
  • Follow up on corrective actions with the responsible parties.
  • Participate in inspections and site meetings concerning occupational health and safety.
  • Participate in investigations following incidents, accidents, or dangerous situations.
  • Collaborate on implementing and monitoring the prevention program on construction sites.
  • Verify the application of safe work methods and report deficiencies to project managers.
  • Participate in worker and stakeholder onboarding and occupational health and safety awareness activities.
  • Prepare inspection reports, observation forms, and follow-up reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment.
