Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required; a commercial driver’s license may be required depending on vehicle type.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with loading and unloading when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to safety and reliability.
  • Candidates must pass a background check and the university driving clearance process.
  • Candidates must be willing to obtain CPR certification.
  • Evening, weekend, and occasional overnight availability is required.
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate university-owned vans or cars for scheduled trips, events, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with traffic laws, university transportation guidelines, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage reports, and fuel usage records.
  • Provide courteous, professional service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Follow emergency procedures in cases of accidents, breakdowns, or medical incidents.
  • Support departmental operations as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous professional driving experience is preferred.
