Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred
  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, building and operating production systems at scale
  • Experience with Java or similar languages
  • Experience in agile-ish systems, kanban systems, and hybrid systems
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical team members
  • Strong automation skills with systems that can operate in production without human intervention
  • Proficiency in continuous delivery and small, frequent deployments
  • Expertise in tuning observability up and down the stack
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers
Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver clean, maintainable, performant code
  • Review code and provide feedback on technical work
  • Build services and tooling to streamline the development process
  • Define standards and best practices for testing, software delivery, observability, and more
  • Participate in sprint-related meetings
  • Encourage a culture of experimentation and prototyping
  • Provide consultation for non-technical teammates
  • Advocate for new technology and design patterns
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
