Masco names chief technology, AI officer. Yaron Ben David takes on a newly created role. Ben David will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Jon Nudi and serve as a member of Masco's Executive Committee. This is a new role for Masco Corp., which is headquartered in Livonia, Mich., and owns brands like Behr paint, Delta and hansgrohe faucets, and HotSpring spas. He joins Masco from Standard Industries, a global industrial company with approximately $11 billion in annual revenue whose portfolio includes GAF and W. R. Grace, a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals and materials. As Standard Industries' Chief Digital Officer, Ben David led enterprise-wide AI, data, cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives across multiple operating companies. Prior to joining Standard Industries, Ben David had extensive leadership experience serving with the Israel Defense Forces, including senior leadership positions within Unit 8200, the Israel Defense Forces' intelligence and cyber organization. In his leadership roles, he led major digital transformation, AI, cloud and data modernization initiatives. Masco Corporation has appointed Brad Hiranaga as chief marketing officer, a newly created role designed to strengthen the company's enterprise growth platform. Hiranaga will report to president and chief executive officer Jon Nudi and join the executive committee. The position consolidates marketing, commercial excellence, digital acceleration and customer capabilities under single leadership. This structure aims to leverage insights, scale best practices and accelerate innovation across Masco's brand portfolio. Hiranaga brings over 25 years of experience in brand growth and business transformation. He joins from Marriott International, where he served as senior vice president, global brand, experience & design. Previously, he spent more than 15 years at General Mills, ultimately serving as chief marketing officer, and later held the chief brand officer position at Cotopaxi.
Masco reported Q2 revenue of $1.99 billion, down 2.9% year-over-year, missing the consensus estimate by 4.64%. However, earnings per share came in at $1.64, beating the $1.30 estimate by 26.15%. The home improvement manufacturer's plumbing products division generated $1.34 billion in net sales, up 1.9% from last year but below analyst expectations. Decorative architectural products posted $655 million in sales, down 11.3% year-over-year and significantly missing the $710.86 million estimate. Despite the mixed results, operating profit in both divisions exceeded analyst projections. Plumbing products reported $361 million in adjusted operating profit, whilst decorative architectural products posted $148 million. Masco shares have risen 0.3% over the past month.
