About the Job

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in accounting at a construction company, with firsthand understanding of job costing, work-in-progress schedules, retainage, AIA billing, committed costs, and contractor month-end close processes.
  • Familiarity with the mid-market and enterprise construction enterprise resource planning landscape, including Viewpoint, CMiC, Sage Intacct, and Acumatica, and a clear view of where those tools fall short.
  • Experience building or launching AI-native or workflow-automation products, including comfort reasoning about model behavior, edge cases, and tradeoffs.
  • Strong technical acumen to discuss tactical decisions in depth with engineers and translate them into customer value.
  • A high-ownership mindset, the ability to move quickly when needed, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Own product initiatives end-to-end, focusing on outcomes and real-world impact rather than only outputs, timelines, or feature delivery.
  • Define and shape product vision and strategy by distilling user needs, workflow complexity, and business priorities into a clear, scalable roadmap.
  • Bring an informed point of view on core accounting capabilities needed by mid-market and enterprise construction finance teams, including job costing, work-in-progress, multi-entity accounting, revenue recognition, and audit-ready controls, and turn it into a clear build plan.
  • Run discovery calls, review support tickets, and translate customer feedback into clear problem statements.
  • Build, launch, and iterate on capabilities from initial development through scale, ensuring rapid learning cycles and high-quality execution.
  • Create clarity and alignment across design, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
  • Set a high bar for execution, usability, and coherence across the platform.
  • Discover use cases for new AI agents, define reliability standards for shipping, and partner with engineering to build evaluation frameworks for measuring and improving agent performance.
  • Help shape how AI agents fit into the broader platform as it scales to serve more customers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ideally, 3–5 years of experience as a product manager with a proven history of delivering complex technical products.

About the Company

Adaptive

AI-powered construction project accounting platform

Adaptive builds an AI-native project accounting platform for construction. It links field context from project management systems like Procore with back-office ledgers so finance teams see job-level costs, WIP, and billing without manual reconciliation. Project Accounting Agents automate field coordination, cost coding, compliance, budget intelligence, and WIP—coding invoices, drafting change orders, preparing billings, and chasing signatures, with human approval before posting to the general ledger. The platform works across more than 10 accounting systems (including QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Foundation, Acumatica) and partners with over 40 accounting firms to scale job costing, AP, billing, and compliance.
