Requirements
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, and a general understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory, and survey techniques.
  • Experience organizing technical data neatly and accurately, and familiarity with the CSI specification system for construction.
  • A thorough understanding of all aspects of construction.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work closely with a variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation; patience and professionalism are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate with personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate extended hours or off-shift work as construction schedules and sequences change.
  • A minimum of two years of construction estimating experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent degree; equivalent field work experience is also accepted.
  • Educational background in materials and methods of construction.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit during the workday and climb stairs for approximately 5% of the day.
  • Constant use of hands and fingers for mouse, keyboard, and computer use.
  • Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range, including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Sufficient hearing to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
  • Sufficient speech ability to be heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds; computer and drawing materials are minimal.
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are minimal.
  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to use creativity, independent judgment, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills to determine the best method to accomplish desired results.
  • Ability to plan and organize work.
  • Strong organizational and computer-use skills and a high level of competency to read, write, and speak English, interpret construction-related documentation, and communicate with coworkers.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain job cost reports, including budgets, commitments, forecasts, yet-to-buys, contingencies, and expenditures.
  • Track costs by bid package, field order, and specific change category as defined by the client.
  • Set up and maintain project indicators, including visual graphics.
  • Work with subcontractors and equipment and material vendors to validate cost proposals.
  • Reconcile project cost reports monthly.
  • Interpret design documents, construction documents, and technical manuals to quantify materials required for construction.
  • Perform on-screen takeoff of material quantities.
  • Prepare and manage cost authorization packages.
  • Summarize material quantities in an orderly fashion.
Desired Qualifications
  • Specific experience in industrial and/or high-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is preferred.
  • LEED Accredited Professional credential, or the ability to become accredited within eighteen months, is preferred.
