Club Pilates to open four new studios across Greater Boston. Club Pilates is expanding across Greater Boston with four new studios opening through early 2027. Published Date: September 10, 2026, 11:40 PM EDT Members get moving at a recently opened Club Pilates studio. (Image credit: Spartan Fitness Holdings) A popular boutique fitness franchise is planning to open four new studios across Greater Boston over the next several months. Club Pilates will launch new studios at 241 Old Colony Avenue, Suite 103 in South Boston, with an opening targeted for November 2026; 96 Tower Road in Waltham, expected to open in December 2026; 334 Broadway, Unit D500 in Saugus, slated for the first quarter of 2027; and 174 Littleton Road in Westford, also expected to open during Q1 2027. All four upcoming locations are being franchised by Spartan Fitness Holdings, the world's largest Club Pilates operator. The company currently operates more than 170 Club Pilates studios across 16 states, including 10 locations in Massachusetts alone. Founded in San Diego in 2007, Club Pilates is the largest Pilates brand and studio network in the world, operating more than 1,300 studios across four continents. The franchise has built its following around low-impact, full-body workouts designed to challenge both the body and mind. The studio's classes are rooted in Joseph Pilates' original Reformer-based Contrology Method, while incorporating modern group instruction and a range of specialized equipment. The approach brings the principles of traditional Pilates into a contemporary studio setting, making the practice accessible to a wide range of bodies and fitness levels. Classes are divided into four levels, allowing members to build their practice at their own pace. Level 1: Foundation is geared toward beginners, introducing the fundamentals of Pilates in a safe and approachable setting. Level 1.5: Progression builds on those basics with more complex movements, greater equipment use, and increasingly dynamic exercises. Level 2: Evolution introduces faster-paced classes, quicker transitions, and more advanced exercises designed to test both strength and coordination. Finally, Level 2.5: Mastery is the most advanced level, focusing on precision, coordination, form, and alignment for members who have already developed a strong Pilates foundation. For locals eager to get moving, founding memberships are already available for the upcoming South Boston studio. Current founding rates include Membership 2, which provides eight classes per month for $183, and Membership 3, which offers unlimited monthly classes at the studio for $231. The South Boston studio is also hosting a Club Pilates Mat class on September 19 at 10 a.m. Those interested can RSVP by September 17 for a chance to meet the studio team, learn more about membership options, and connect with the South Boston community ahead of the studio's opening. Why Xponential Fitness (XPOF) stock is trading up today. August 26, 2026 at 16:00 PM EDT i This article is third-party content and does not represent the views of this site. Tamar Securities, LLC make no guarantees regarding its accuracy or completeness. What happened? Shares of boutique fitness studio franchisor Xponential Fitness (NYSE: XPOF) jumped 9.4% in the afternoon session after Fund 1 Investments disclosed a 9.9% stake in the company and signaled plans to engage with management regarding operational and strategic opportunities. According to a regulatory Schedule 13D filing, Fund 1 Investments holds 4,170,610 Class A common shares, acquired for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $25.85 million. The investment firm stated that it built the position in the belief that the stock was undervalued. Fund 1 Investments also indicated it intends to evaluate operational improvements and may discuss topics such as board composition, capitalization, and potential business combinations with company leadership. The shares closed the day at $5.68, up 8.3% from the previous close. What is the market telling Tamar Securities, LLC. Xponential Fitness's shares are very volatile and have had 27 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today's move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business. The previous big move Tamar Securities, LLC wrote about was 19 days ago when the stock dropped 22.5% on the news that second-quarter profitability badly missed expectations and management cut full-year guidance. Adjusted EPS of just $0.02 came in far below the roughly $0.13 consensus, and the company lowered 2026 revenue and adjusted EBITDA outlooks below Wall Street's prior framework. Revenue of about $66 million fell 13% year over year. Same-store sales declined 6.8%, and Club Pilates - the flagship brand - also posted negative comps, so the miss was rooted in weaker studio-level demand, not only accounting noise. A shift to outsourced merchandise fulfillment further reduced reported sales, but that structural change does not explain soft same-store trends. Full-year revenue guidance was cut to $250-$260 million and adjusted EBITDA to $91-$97 million (about $255 million and $94 million at the midpoints), both below prior company guidance and consensus. Net new studio openings were also trimmed to about 150. Franchise fitness stocks are valued on system-wide sales growth and unit economics; when comps crack and the guide comes down in the same print, multiple compression tends to be immediate - especially with a strategic review already hanging over the story. Xponential Fitness is down 29.4% since the beginning of the year, and at $5.67 per share, it is trading 37% below its 52-week high of $9 from February 2026. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Xponential Fitness's shares 5 years ago would now be looking at only $508.62. ALSO WORTH WATCHING: Nvidia's Quiet Partner. Nvidia's chips cost a hundred grand. Fitness franchise opportunities in Asia Pacific in 2026: gyms, boutique studios and the wellness boom. The short answer. The fitness franchise sector is one of the most durable franchise categories in Asia Pacific in 2026, spanning full-service gym franchises, boutique fitness studios and emerging wellness and recovery concepts. Demand is structural - urbanisation, rising health awareness, corporate wellness and a young middle class that treats exercise as identity, not obligation. For investors, the question is less whether to enter than which format fits their capital profile, operating appetite and market. This guide maps the main models and how franchise rights are typically structured across the region. Why fitness franchises keep compounding in Asia Pacific. Fitness spending across Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Gulf has proven resilient through economic cycles because it rides several reinforcing trends at once: dense urban living that favours convenient neighbourhood formats, social-media-driven fitness culture, employer wellness programmes and public-health policy tailwinds. The demand signal shows up far beyond the gym floor - global activewear brands are following it too, as Fabletics' India entry with Reliance Brands illustrates. When apparel, equipment and studio concepts all chase the same consumer, category depth is real. The three main fitness franchise formats. Most opportunities fall into three operating families, each with a distinct capital and management profile - described here structurally rather than in figures, since commitment levels vary by brand and market. | Format | Footprint & build-out | Operating intensity | Revenue model | Best-fit operator | | Full-service gym (e.g. big-box HVLP clubs) | Large floor plates; equipment-heavy build-out | Continuous staffing, maintenance and member operations | Recurring memberships at accessible price points | Well-capitalised multi-unit groups with real-estate access | | Boutique studio (Pilates, cycling, HIIT, yoga) | Compact spaces; lighter fit-out | Class scheduling and instructor quality drive everything | Class packs and premium memberships | Owner-operators and portfolio investors scaling studio clusters | | Wellness & recovery (stretch, sauna, contrast therapy) | Small-format suites | Appointment-led, service-business cadence | Sessions, plans and add-on retail | Service-minded operators adding a complementary concept | Boutique fitness: where the regional momentum is. The boutique wave - led globally by Pilates - is scaling fast across Asia Pacific. Club Pilates recently crossed 1,500 studios worldwide as it opened in Bangkok, while Australia's STRONG Pilates has been signing multi-country master franchise deals of its own. In the Gulf, boutique concepts are among the fastest-growing service franchises - a dynamic we unpack in our guide to Pilates franchise opportunities in the GCC. Studios travel well across borders because the format is compact, brand-led and instructor-driven rather than equipment-warehouse dependent. Full-Service gyms: scale players for committed operators. At the other end of the spectrum, high-value low-price gym brands continue to add units globally - Crunch Fitness, for example, passed 550 gyms worldwide on the back of committed multi-unit franchisees. Big-box formats reward groups that can secure anchor retail sites, manage larger teams and run disciplined member-services operations - and they tend to award development rights market by market to operators who can prove that capability. How fitness franchise rights are structured in the region. Cross-border fitness deals in Asia Pacific and MENA typically use one of three structures: master franchise rights for a country or territory, area development agreements committing to a staged opening schedule, or single-unit licences inside an existing developed market. Which is right depends on capital depth, management bench and how proven the brand already is locally - trade-offs we analyse in detail in our guide to master franchise and area development structures. What to evaluate before committing. * Format fit - match the concept's footprint and staffing model to your operating capacity, not just your capital * Market density - boutique studios need affluent, walkable catchments; big-box gyms need anchor sites and parking or transit * Instructor and talent pipeline - boutique economics live and die on coaching quality and retention * Brand support depth - training systems, member technology, marketing playbooks and supply arrangements * Territory logic - whether the brand grants protected development rights and how openings are sequenced * Local regulation - licensing, health and safety and employment rules vary widely across the region Market snapshots: where operators are looking in 2026. Thailand and Singapore remain the region's boutique-fitness beachheads, with Bangkok now a standard first stop for international studio brands entering Southeast Asia. Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia offer the demographic depth - young, urban, digitally native populations - that rewards accessible gym formats and first-mover boutique clusters. India's fitness and athleisure surge is pulling in global brands across the value chain, while in the GCC, wellness-forward government agendas and premium consumer spending make the Gulf one of the highest-intent boutique markets anywhere. Sequencing matters: operators who prove a format in one dense urban market earn the credibility - and often the contractual rights - to expand into neighbouring territories. Frequently asked questions. Is a gym franchise a good investment in Asia Pacific in 2026? The category's fundamentals are strong - recurring-revenue memberships, structural demand growth and proven international brands actively granting rights. Returns depend on format selection, site quality and operating discipline, so the investment case is operator-specific rather than universal. Which fitness franchise format grows fastest right now? Boutique studios - Pilates in particular - are the fastest-scaling format across Asia Pacific and the Gulf, because compact footprints and class-based models replicate quickly across urban catchments. Do I need fitness industry experience to buy a fitness franchise? Not necessarily. Established systems supply training, operating manuals and technology; what brands screen for is management capability, capital adequacy and commitment to the operating cadence the format demands. How do master franchise rights work for fitness brands? A master franchisee acquires the right to develop a defined territory - often a country - and typically commits to a development schedule, local adaptation and sub-franchising or corporate build-out. Industry bodies such as the Health & Fitness Association track the global operating benchmarks many brands reference in those negotiations.
