About the job
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Valid Journeyman Millwright Certificate.
- Skills to operate precision metal cutting and grinding machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders.
- Ability to use instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers and prepare working sketches.
- Ability to fit parts to mechanisms and verify dimensions.
- Ability to work with a computerized maintenance system.
- Computer, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
- Ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
- Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures, and general workplace rules.
- Participate in the day-to-day health and safety program by working safely at all times.
- Use required personal protective equipment.
- Ensure that authorized work is completed safely.
- Use required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards.
- Participate in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives.
- Report unsafe acts and conditions, incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries or illnesses according to company procedure.
- Perform repairs and maintenance activities.
- Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Align gears, shafts, pumps, gearboxes, belts, and agitators.
- Use laser equipment.
- Install and remove motors.
- Connect couplings and belts.
- Fabricate equipment and parts.
- Establish and implement preventive and operational maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Participate in the rotational on-call schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
