About the job

Requirements
  • Bring substantial experience of sophisticated law-firm work and the judgment to influence senior legal stakeholders. A Scandinavian legal qualification is preferred but not required; equivalent credibility can come from legal innovation, knowledge, legal operations, professional services or legal technology.
  • Bring substantial senior experience, often around 8+ years of relevant work. Scope, autonomy, repeated impact and evidence of operating at Lead Legal Engineer or Director-level scope matter more than tenure alone.
  • Understand law-firm economics, partner incentives, practice-group dynamics and the tension between innovation, quality, risk and billable work.
  • May have managed people directly, which is an advantage, but it is not a prerequisite. This can be a growth move into formal management if you can show repeated evidence of first-line leadership through coaching, feedback, delegation, hiring or performance judgment.
  • Can personally lead a difficult client workshop, demo or programme while developing others to do the same.
  • Are deeply curious about generative AI and product. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you must be able to test workflows, challenge assumptions and explain limits accurately.
  • Connect Legal Engineering work to commercial outcomes, including conversion, adoption, usage, renewal and expansion, and know how to make that value visible to Go-to-Market, Engagement and senior customer stakeholders.
  • Bring structure to ambiguity without creating process for its own sake. Your systems make decisions faster, quality more consistent and team execution less dependent on individual heroics.
  • Communicate fluently in English. Any Scandinavian language is preferred but not required.
  • Are based in Stockholm and able to work from the office five days per week. You are also comfortable travelling across Scandinavia and the Baltics for strategic customers, team leadership and market work.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operating rhythm for the law-firm Legal Engineering team, including priorities, one-on-ones, coaching, capacity, quality review and escalation.
  • Translate regional commercial priorities into clear weekly execution across accounts. Keep every material pilot, rollout, renewal and expansion tied to a named owner, next step, risk signal, governance forum and measurable outcome.
  • Lead selected high-value law-firm engagements from discovery to go-live, especially where the customer problem is ambiguous, senior-stakeholder heavy or commercially important. Turn legal problems into credible workflows, agree success measures and help firms move from isolated use cases to repeatable adoption across practice groups.
  • Build trusted relationships with Managing Partners, practice leaders, innovation and knowledge teams, IT leaders and day-to-day champions. Create the conditions for bad news and blockers to surface early.
  • Partner closely with Go-to-Market and Engagement on conversion, usage, renewal and expansion. Bring legal judgment into commercial decisions, shape the service model for strategic accounts and make the value of Legal Engineering visible.
  • Coach Legal Engineers on demos, workshops, programme plans, stakeholder communications and difficult client moments. Step in when required, then return ownership rather than keeping it.
  • Build a strong sponsor-and-champion model inside customer firms so that implementation has both day-to-day energy and senior decision-making support.
  • Turn recurring client patterns into reusable templates, checklists, recordings, narratives and playbooks that improve delivery across the region and raise the standard for how the team serves sophisticated law firms.
  • Represent the voice of Scandinavian and Baltic law firms inside Legora. Log product gaps with evidence, translate field patterns into actionable requirements, propose practical fixes and follow through with Product.
  • Hire and ramp strong Legal Engineers. Apply a consistent bar in interviews, give new joiners clear expectations and shorten the path to independent client work.
  • Protect quality and sustainable pace while the team grows. Challenge poorly scoped work, surface structural capacity issues early and prevent the team from becoming dependent on heroics.
  • Own priority use cases from discovery to go-live with measurable success targets. Connect product choices to the firm's legal and commercial goals, define what great looks like for large programmes, produce assets others can reuse, and turn product gaps into evidence-based recommendations.
  • Lead meetings, workshops and demos with senior law-firm stakeholders. Explain how Legora creates measurable value in business terms, handle complex objections cleanly and adapt communication across partners, associates, innovation leads and technical teams.
  • Lead detailed planning for complex enterprise work, using standard methods where they help and varying the playbook where the context demands it. Keep owners, dependencies, risks, governance and outcomes visible, then adjust quickly when reality changes.
  • Build trusted senior relationships, identify concerns before they become blockers, influence priorities and navigate conflict between stakeholder groups. Operate credibly with managing partners, practice leaders and executive sponsors while coaching less experienced Legal Engineers to own relationships themselves.
  • Lead substantive discussions on how AI will change law-firm work and economics. Synthesise field evidence into credible client narratives, contribute original ideas to the roadmap, represent Legora's point of view in senior forums and help the wider team develop a sharper point of view.
  • Be active in sourcing, interviews, case calibration, closing and onboarding; partner closely with Talent and maintain a stable hiring quality bar.
  • Ensure the team understands performance expectations through regular one-on-ones, early written feedback and clear development plans; coach team members and act when evidence shows performance is not improving.
  • Own team outcomes while delegating work. Make priorities, decision rights, leading indicators and dependencies clear, establish team ownership areas and enable the team to operate day to day without the manager present.
  • Give the team credit and take accountability for misses. Create stretch opportunities, support the team under pressure and build trust so risks and bad news surface early.
  • Set a clear performance standard, identify underperformance early and distinguish coachable gaps from persistent misses. Make evidence-based, timely, fair and humane decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Scandinavian legal qualification.
  • Any Scandinavian language.
  • Direct people-management experience.

About the company

Legora builds an AI-powered, collaborative workspace for legal teams. Its platform helps law firms and corporate legal departments conduct research, review, drafting, and end-to-end legal workflows, all within a workspace that includes firm-specific and jurisdiction-specific context. The product works by providing an agentic AI assistant that can handle tasks across the legal process—research, drafting, reviewing, and workflow orchestration—tailored to each firm’s rules and the relevant laws of different jurisdictions. Legora differentiates itself from competitors by serving a very large existing customer base (tens of thousands of lawyers across 1,000+ organizations in 50+ markets), focusing specifically on legal work, and backing its platform with significant capital and big-name investors to scale its US expansion and its agentic workflows. The company’s goal is to broaden adoption of its AI-powered legal workspace globally and to enable efficient, context-aware legal work at scale.

Sirion and Legora link contract management with legal AI research for in-house teams

Sirion, a contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform, and Legora, an AI operating system for legal work, announced a partnership on October 14, 2026. It connects the two platforms so in-house legal teams no longer have to move information manually between research and contract systems. Customers can pull Sirion contracts, precedents, and negotiated terms into Legora to generate insights, summaries, and drafts. Within Sirion, users can run Legora research to check contracts against case law, legislation, and regulations. Legora returns cited answers and suggested amendments. Sirion remains the system of record, and its access controls carry over to Legora automatically. The integration will roll out in phases, starting with select beta customers.

Legora CEO: UK stock options make London expansion a 'no-brainer' but Sweden 'almost impossible

Swedish legaltech Legora is expanding in London, with CEO Max Junestrand citing the UK's favourable approach to employee stock options as a key driver. Junestrand contrasted this with conditions in Sweden, which he described as "almost impossible" for scaling companies. The CEO highlighted broader challenges around taxation of employee equity across Europe, stating it makes it "impossible to actually scale here." The comments underscore ongoing debates about how different regulatory approaches to stock options affect where fast-growing tech companies choose to expand. Legora's decision to prioritise London expansion reflects growing concerns amongst European founders about competitive disadvantages created by varying national policies on employee ownership schemes.

Legora acquires litigation startup Wexler in fifth deal since January

Legora has acquired litigation startup Wexler, whose software helps lawyers reconstruct cases from thousands of documents by tracing statements back to source evidence and identifying conflicts. The acquisition marks Legora's fifth since January as it competes with rival Harvey to dominate the law firm market. London-based Wexler had raised $7 million and secured clients including HSF Kramer, Goodwin Procter, and Clifford Chance. The company claims its software cuts manual document review time by 75 per cent. Wexler cofounder Gregory Mostyn said the startup wasn't seeking a sale but chose to join Legora's platform of over 1,500 customers. Legora was valued at $5.5 billion in March, whilst Harvey is worth $11 billion. The deal reflects consolidation in legal tech as law firms select long-term software partners following years of testing chatbots and other tools.
