Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Five or more years of related office experience, preferably in accounts payable.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe tools.
  • Previous use of a computerized accounting system, preferably Costpoint and/or Puridiom.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all organizational levels and provide customer service to vendors.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, by the designated United States Government security office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Ability to work a scheduled 40-hour work week, excluding Savannah River Remediation holidays, with a 30-minute lunch each workday; overtime may be required as necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, events, site visits, or training.
Responsibilities
  • Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to maintaining and processing accounts payable transactions.
  • Verify information on vendor invoices and detect and correct erroneous data.
  • Route and enter data into the accounting system promptly so payments are processed when due.
  • Process employee expense reimbursements.
  • Respond to employee and vendor inquiries.
  • Review rejected transactions, determine the reason, and prepare corrections.
  • Verify vendor information, including W-9 forms.
  • Post batch entries.
  • Prepare and send 1099 forms.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Review departmental policies and procedures and recommend changes as needed.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and basic analyses as requested.
  • Assist with audit requests.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing.
  • Update accounting journals, ledgers, or other financial records as needed.
  • Provide daily, weekly, or monthly reports as needed.
  • Prepare ACH transfers, wire transfers, and check requests as needed.
  • Administer company travel credit-card programs as assigned.
  • Administer local travel and entertainment processes as assigned.
  • Administer the freight payment program as assigned.
  • Address improper payments and discounts as assigned.
  • Assist the manager with metrics.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five or more years of related office experience in accounts payable is preferred.
  • Previous use of Costpoint and/or Puridiom is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio is preferred.
