About the Job

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Six years of hands-on data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines for Data Science and AI in multi-cloud environments, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Snowflake architecture, including data sharing, performance tuning, and integration with external cloud AI services.
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of AWS data services including S3, Glue, and Lambda, and Azure data services including Data Factory and Synapse.
  • Mastery of Python, SQL, and PySpark.
  • Deep experience with data orchestration and containerization using Docker.
  • Ability to interface with legacy on-premise SQL, mainframe extracts, and flat files and transform them for modern cloud consumption.
  • Understanding of data needs for machine learning feature engineering and generative AI vectorization and embedding pipelines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
  • Ability to think clearly and conceptually, exercise judgment, troubleshoot, solve problems, analyze information, and exercise discretion; handle work-related stress and multiple priorities; and meet deadlines.

  • Develop and maintain feature stores and analytically optimized datasets that support machine learning workflows, ensuring data is clean, versioned, reproducible, and statistically valid for Data Science teams.
  • Engineer data pipelines for generative AI use cases, including automated extraction, transformation, chunking, and loading of structured and unstructured data into vector databases across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Implement advanced data modeling patterns, Snowpipe automation, and compute and storage optimization in Snowflake to support high-concurrency analytics and AI workloads.
  • Execute non-invasive data extraction strategies to unlock data from legacy systems while preserving system stability and avoiding disruption to core business operations.
  • Design and manage cross-platform data workflows using Airflow, AWS Step Functions, and Azure Data Factory to ensure reliable, synchronized data movement across the multi-cloud architecture.
  • Partner with central IT, database administrators, infrastructure, and security teams to resolve connectivity and access challenges, including PrivateLink, IAM, network segmentation, and firewall controls, and secure production approval for new data integrations.
  • Implement automated data quality, validation, and observability frameworks to detect data drift, anomalies, and integrity issues affecting production analytics, machine learning, or AI systems.
  • Optimize storage, compute usage, and query performance in Snowflake, AWS, and Azure to improve efficiency, manage costs, and support measurable ROI for Transformation Office initiatives.
  • Partner with MLOps, Data Science, and AI teams, iterating on evolving data requirements and translating experimental use cases into scalable, production-ready data solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
