Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Construction, Engineering, or another job-related field of study.
  • Proficiency with standard software applications.
  • Knowledge of roadway plans and specifications.
  • A valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Physical dexterity to traverse construction sites.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation and mandatory pre-employment drug testing, including random unannounced drug and alcohol testing during employment.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect all phases of construction for compliance with plans and specifications, and assist the project manager with final inspections of completed projects.
  • Check utility relocations and inspect construction sites for proper placement of signs and barricades, utility-line relocation, and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Maintain records of work produced and pay items, and measure pay quantities for monthly and final estimates.
  • Prepare job-progress reports, verify and complete cost estimates, verify contractor submittals, and download relevant weather and environmental data.
  • Attend meetings and participate with the matrix team and project manager in developing key project phases, including construction reviews, plan verification, and inspection of proposed job-site photos and videos.
  • Assist with public meetings about projects and resolve complaints from property owners and the general public.
  • Assist laboratory technicians with sampling and testing construction materials.
