Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Certified Nurse Assistant credential in good standing on the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry is required.
  • No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift, transfer, push, or pull residents, patients, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
  • The role involves exposure to falls, burns from equipment, odors, cuts, infectious waste, disease conditions, AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses, and bloodborne-disease risk category I.
Responsibilities
  • Provide daily resident and patient care in accordance with nursing procedures and Charge Nurse instructions.
  • Maintain each resident’s or patient’s Plan of Care.
  • Provide assigned activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, comfort and safety, ambulation, lifting, skin care, nutrition, and hydration.
  • Assist with care of dying residents and provide post-mortem care.
  • Observe and report pressure areas and skin breakdown.
  • Assist with applying nursing treatments as required.
  • Provide daily rehabilitative and restorative procedures as required.
  • Maintain a warm, personally attentive, and calm environment throughout the unit.
  • Answer resident calls promptly.
  • Check rooms for medications and unauthorized food items and report findings to the Charge Nurse.
  • Maintain resident and patient rooms, work areas, and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition.
  • Follow established infection-control and standard-precaution procedures and immediately report hazardous conditions to the Charge Nurse.
  • Attend care conferences as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Attend scheduled all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training.
  • Share observations and operational insights that may improve departmental quality and efficiency.
  • Measure and record ADL coding, intake and output, temperatures, weights, and other entries in the electronic medical record or as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Report changes in residents’ or patients’ conditions to the Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
  • Report concerns and complaints voiced by residents, patients, or family members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Zachary Mills has been named executive director of Ohio Living Sarah Moore, Delaware, OH. In his new role, he will oversee campus operations, including staff engagement, resident and family communications, support for the local advisory board, and financial management. Mills brings more than 13 years of leadership experience as an administrator and executive director at senior living communities throughout Central Ohio. He is a licensed nursing home administrator and earned a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. Mills' background includes experience in process improvement, quality outcomes, relationship-building, workforce stabilization, and staff retention. Kyle Ozimkiewicz advances to executive director role at The Philadelphia Protestant Home. Kyle Ozimkiewicz was named executive director of The Philadelphia Protestant Home (PPH), Philadelphia, PA. He most recently served as nursing home administrator at PPH, and succeeded Kelli Mills. Ozimkiewicz joined PPH in 2015 as a registered nurse in Pathways Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He later advanced to director of nursing before becoming nursing home administrator. He earned a bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of science in nursing degree from Chamberlain University.
