Requirements
  • Any one or any combination of the listed education and experience categories totaling four years (48 months): a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, and/or business; or collection, consumer credit, or business experience requiring knowledge of collection methods and procedures. The posting credits 30 semester hours as one year, an associate's degree as 18 months, 90 semester hours as two years, and a bachelor's degree as three years.
  • Three years of collection experience comparable to Collection Assistant Manager level or in another position of comparable responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of the Ellucian Banner system.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of the Touchnet system.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
Responsibilities
  • Execute, maintain, and oversee intricate student account functions while providing customer service to students, parents, and the university community.
  • Plan, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and operational methods for student account billing, payment plans, and collection functions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Oversee online tuition payment plan enrollments, cancellations, recalculations, student communications, and delinquency notifications.
  • Develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures for payment plan administration and collections processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations related to billing and payment practices.
  • Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accurate account setup, billing, and communications.
  • Perform periodic operational reviews to improve efficiency, service delivery, and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary backup to the Director of Student Payment Services for student refund processing and related semester-to-semester transitions.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting, auditing, and internal control standards in refund-related processes.
  • Assist in reviewing and improving business workflows related to refunds and account reconciliation.
  • Interpret and apply institutional, state, and federal regulations that affect student refunds and financial transactions.
  • Approve, process, and manage collection of student emergency loans, including interest calculations and delinquency management.
  • Oversee assignment of delinquent accounts to state offset and other collection mechanisms.
  • Implement and monitor collection strategies, policies, and procedures to improve recovery rates and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of collection activities and account handling.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements governing collections and student financial obligations.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable department with special projects and operational initiatives.
  • Support policy development, workflow optimization, and cross-functional coordination related to receivables and collections.
  • May select, train, assign work to, and evaluate the performance of student aid and student workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
