Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required, either from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, and working in confined or cramped spaces.
  • Ability to perform kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, gross motor activities, firm grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, repetitive upper-extremity motions, and reaching in all directions.
  • Ability to fully use both legs and use the lower extremities for balance and coordination.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted, lift or lower 50-pound objects unassisted, lift 25 pounds from 36 inches to overhead, and exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision, recognize objects at close or distant range, discriminate colors, determine depth and distance relationships, and maintain good peripheral vision.
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity with correction and perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts, work overtime as required, and work in a latex-safe environment.
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions; selected positions also require good olfactory sensory function and physical qualification for respirator use.

  • Deliver safe and effective care.
  • Interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results.
