Requirements
  • Ability to follow applicable schedules, sanitation, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to walk for up to 6–7 hours per day, stand for 1–2 hours per day, and perform occasional firm grasping, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, frequent pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, occasional stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching, and frequent reaching above shoulder level.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation and see for general and near vision.
Responsibilities
  • Use appropriate cleaning supplies and chemicals according to departmental procedures.
  • Clean and prepare patient rooms, beds, stretchers, and other assigned areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Scrub, mop, and buff floors.
  • Dust and polish furniture.
  • Clean interior glass windows, woodwork, toilets, washrooms, and fixtures.
  • Clean kitchen sinks and tables and dining areas.
  • Remove trash from assigned areas to designated trash stations.
  • Use safe and proper cleaning procedures.
  • Attend 85% of Environmental Services Department monthly staff meetings annually.
  • Maintain assigned areas in a neat, clean, and sanitary condition.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • Three to six months of housekeeping experience in a hospital or institutional setting preferred.
