About the job
- An Assistant Instructor Course from VDWS is required.
- A Water Sports Assistant Course from Villa College is required.
- A Boat Captain License is required.
- Two years of experience in the water sports field is required.
- Alternatively, a Basic Emergency First Response License, Basic Surf Rescue certification from SLSA, Basic Wind Surfing License from VDWS or RYA, Sailing Basic License from VDWS or RYA, and GCE A level or a diploma in Business Management or Marine Biology are listed as qualifications.
- Assist with operating water sports activities safely and appropriately, following Q Adventure standards and operating guidelines.
- Keep water sports areas clean and tidy, and maintain and secure equipment in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Comply with hotel policies for providing water sports facilities to guests and follow applicable government safety regulations.
- Attend promptly to guests arriving for water sports activities.
- Answer telephone calls within three rings or fifteen seconds using appropriate greetings, including the person's name and department, and offer assistance.
- Assist instructors in activities at the water sports center.
- Plan and manage boat trips and catamaran sailing excursions in accordance with standard operating guidelines.
- Promote sales.
- Maintain materials, machinery, equipment, and consumables at the center.
- Attend weekly meetings conducted by the water sports in-charge.
- Observe guest safety and security at all times.
- Assist with and conduct practical courses when the instructor is absent.
- Manage and perform daily maintenance on motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Report faulty equipment, problems, and suggestions for improvement to the base leader.
- Ensure all activities are carried out safely and responsibly.
- Update water sports administration software and required reports and records.
- Experience in a related field is an added advantage.
