Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, enrollment in a graduate program, and three years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical nursing are required, unless the candidate holds relevant national certification for the clinical teaching area.
- An active, current, unencumbered, and unrestricted Arizona or multistate Registered Nurse license is required.
- Candidates must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing.
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content by teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing.
- Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
- Participate in grading written work and clinical performance check-offs.
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
- Maintain compliance with program accreditation requirements.
- Uphold nursing as a holistic profession and support the pillars of the University.
- Travel to Grand Canyon University student sites to directly observe student performance.
- Participate in or support the university program in all areas, including congruence with the institution's philosophy and direction and service to the community.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree or higher in Nursing is preferred.
- Two years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical nursing is preferred.
