About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Three to five or more years of parts and/or equipment maintenance experience are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure while multitasking is required.
- The ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the company is required.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently and as part of a team is required.
- The ability to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds is required.
- The ability to climb on and under equipment to locate part numbers is required.
- The ability to look up parts applications using manuals, catalogs, or web-based systems is required.
- Experience utilizing Viewpoint company software is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, computers, and other electronic devices is required.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and safe environment is required.
- Provide support to the equipment manager and mechanics for the maintenance of company equipment.
- Manage inventory.
- Pull requested parts from inventory and reorder them when necessary.
- Expedite shipping and receiving.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
- Record and maintain parts and maintenance history.
- Identify and order all parts and materials required for mechanics.
- Enter oil capacities on new equipment into the Viewpoint EM Equipment Parts tab.
- Keep all equipment updated on the service schedule, including setting up new equipment.
- Communicate with lube technicians, mechanics, and master mechanics.
- Inform the equipment manager of abnormal oil samples.
- Knowledge of equipment is preferred.
- A background in automotive mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics is a plus.
