Requirements
  • Have graduated from Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) training and held a grade no lower than Sergeant, or be a Combat Medic, or have served as an instructor in a United States Special Operations Command medical pipeline course.
  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Currently possess or be able to obtain an active United States Secret clearance.
  • Pass a Department of Motor Vehicles check.
  • For instructors of the Special Forces Medical Sergeant Skills Sustainment Course, be a Special Forces Medical Sergeant graduate and have served at least 3 years on an Operational Detachment Alpha, Marine Special Operations Team, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman team, or Navy SEAL platoon.
  • Possess current Basic Life Support Provider certification.
  • Possess current Tactical Combat Casualty Care certification.
  • Possess current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider certification.
  • Possess current Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals certification.
  • Obtain American Heart Association certification within 6 weeks of hiring.
  • Meet United States Special Operations Command Advanced Tactical Practitioner requirements.
  • Have familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills and proficiency with routine office equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and web-based applications.
  • Demonstrate communication and time-management skills.
Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes using large-group classroom instruction, small-group instruction, and hands-on training, including coordinating with subject matter experts who teach blocks of instruction in their areas.
  • Coordinate classes and prepare all aspects of lesson plans with the Course Director according to Special Warfare Center & School guidance and standards, including developing and implementing practical exercises and learning activities.
  • Assemble and maintain materials related to blocks of instruction, including lesson plans and visitor folders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support Instructor certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor certification.
  • Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals Instructor certification.
  • Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, a United States jurisdiction, or United States Special Operations Command Advanced Tactical Practitioner requirements.
