About the Job

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of API design and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud services; Azure is preferred.
  • Understanding of document and content management concepts, including metadata models and taxonomy, version control, access control lists, retention and deletion rules, optical character recognition, and data extraction.
  • Understanding of handling personal data at scale, including GDPR, data minimisation, retention, legal hold, and auditability.
  • Understanding of Tesco's technical landscape and API infrastructure, or ability to learn it quickly.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Aha!.
  • Advanced stakeholder management across engineering, compliance and operations, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Methodical, analytical problem-solving from first principles.
  • Ability to learn a detailed, regulated product domain quickly.
  • Strong presentation and persuasion abilities, particularly when declining requests that would compromise the platform.
  • Agile expertise, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • At least 5 years of Product Management experience in agile or Scrum environments, including end-to-end ownership of a product or capability.
  • Track record of setting product strategy and delivering against it.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority and holding a position under pressure.
  • Technical competence to influence solution context and support engineering estimation.
  • Understanding of technical debt impact and upgrade value.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers against a statement of work.
  • Ability to make decisions under competing priorities and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Set the longer-term CDMS platform strategy, choose which business areas to onboard and in what order, and translate the strategy into a roadmap for delivery.
  • Run the day-to-day backlog with the agile engineering team in Kraków, including user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritisation, answering technical questions, and maintaining delivery of value.
  • Own reusable, document-agnostic capabilities, including upload and camera scanning, OCR and data extraction, metadata and version control, secure storage and APIs, search and retrieval, retention, legal hold, and deletion.
  • Shape the front-end experience for managers and colleagues with design and user research to make document uploads quick and accurate.
  • Onboard journey teams and business areas by qualifying demand, mapping it to existing capabilities, and maintaining the ownership boundary between CDMS and consuming teams rather than accepting bespoke, unscalable builds.
  • Make CDMS self-serve through integration guides, clear feature and non-feature lists, and decision trees so teams can onboard with minimal CDMS involvement.
  • Own compliance outcomes, including Right to Work coverage and data accuracy, retention, GDPR, access control, auditability, and document reporting.
  • Balance new capability against security hardening, non-functional requirements, and technical debt, and make trade-offs explicit.
  • Define and track OKRs and build measurement through analytics, dashboards, upload success rates, performance, and usability.
  • Work with the third-party platform partner on requirements, non-functional requirements, and data migration, and represent CDMS to senior stakeholders across People Technology, People Services, compliance, and architecture in the UK and Central Europe.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with a shared platform, internal capability, or global component consumed by other product teams, where users include other teams as well as end users.
  • Experience with enterprise content management platforms such as OpenText/Documentum, M-Files, Kofax, or SharePoint.
  • Domain expertise in relevant functional areas or complex domains; HR/People, compliance, or regulated document handling experience is an advantage.
  • Experience with OKRs.
