Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience, including implementation, testing, and ongoing support of clinical applications, is required.
  • At least 1 year of health care information technology consulting work experience is required.
  • Clinical workflow experience is required.
  • The candidate must be a self-starter able to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change initiatives.
  • Strong presentation skills to executives and chief clinicians are required.
  • Fire Life Safety Training in Los Angeles City is required; if the candidate does not have a card upon hire, it must be obtained within 30 days and renewed before expiration.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate, collaborate, and work with leadership, staff, and information technology teams to design and continuously improve Cerner builds and related information technology initiatives.
  • Work with physicians, nurses, hospital administration, and information technology counterparts as an operations and information technology liaison throughout assessment, scoping, build, implementation, optimization, upgrades, system changes, enhancements, testing, troubleshooting, issue management, training, go-lives, and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Establish clinical workflows for provider, nursing, front office, ancillary staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, medication administration, and other orders workflows.
  • Drive development of future-state workflows using clinical and application knowledge.
  • Educate clinicians on appropriate system use and promote positive experiences with information technology solutions.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for the assigned facility.
  • Implement and develop assigned clinical applications, including providing first- and second-level support to end users.
  • Work with internal resources and vendors to upgrade applicable software or implement enhancements, including testing new functionality, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activities, resolving problems, maintaining progress reports, and escalating problems as needed.
  • Analyze applications and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze application and end-user problems and errors, and work with end users and vendors to correct them.
  • Support and troubleshoot inbound and outbound interfaces.
  • Determine operational objectives by analyzing functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Write and maintain user documentation such as job aids, provide help desk support, and train users.
  • Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  • Participate in entity-level and enterprise-wide information technology committees as a representative and liaison.
  • Work with leadership to identify subject-matter experts for project work as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Cerner experience is highly desired.
  • Experience as a licensed clinical worker or health care worker is a plus.
