  • 5+ years of experience working with parcel carriers as a shipper and a deep technical understanding of parcel carrier networks, including zone skipping and pricing models
  • Excellent analytics and presentation skills and a proven track record of translating data-driven insight into action and consumer-facing impact
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Python, R, or advanced Excel
  • Adept in collaborating with cross-functional teams (Fulfillment, Finance etc.) and external partners (Carriers, 3PL’s)
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to absorb and distill complexity into simple terms to drive decision making
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and can prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail

Responsibilities
  • Develop last-mile routing models to enhance operational efficiency while reducing costs to ultimately provide best-in-class customer experiences
  • Optimize our daily carrier forecasts including pull times, volumes and injection locations
  • Strategize contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions in our last mile network around weather and other force majeure events
  • Act as a key partner to our order allocation and demand planning teams, taking insights on customer demand to model and adjust our network forecasts
  • Regularly update internal last-mile carrier rate and transit time tables to ensure that optimization models and key business systems, including fulfillment management systems, are efficiently maintained
  • Support leadership in strategic carrier contract negotiations by evaluating proposed rates and associated volume/spend requirements
  • Provide recommendations on carrier rate structures and contract language based on network optimization
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to Outbound parcel optimization including average zone, cost and time out of the cold chain
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging analytics and best practices to optimize network design and enhance overall efficiency
  • Partner closely with operations, finance, engineering, customer experience and other key stakeholders to negotiate priorities, tradeoffs, and ensure alignment
