About the job

Requirements
  • Understand multiplayer Minecraft sufficiently to follow player interactions and recognize gameplay issues.
  • Be comfortable with Java and/or Bedrock Minecraft, survival and creative gameplay, inventories, builds, claims, teleporting, common commands, and multiplayer chat.
  • Communicate calmly with children and teens, set clear boundaries, and recognize when intervention is needed.
  • Be dependable, work independently, and follow established procedures.
  • Write clear, objective incident notes, protect member privacy, and ask for help when issues fall outside the role.
  • Be based in Canada and eligible to work in Canada.
  • Complete criminal record and vulnerable sector screening requirements.
  • Have access to a private workspace, stable high-speed internet, and a reliable computer capable of running Minecraft and Microsoft Teams simultaneously.
  • Be available across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with additional weekday availability during public holidays and scheduled programming breaks.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor server activity, player interactions, chat, and member reports throughout each shift.
  • Answer Minecraft questions and assist members with navigation, claims, common commands, and basic server issues.
  • Respond to griefing, stealing, inappropriate builds, spam, and other disruptive behaviour using approved tools and established reminders, resets, or temporary restrictions.
  • Investigate straightforward incidents such as griefing or stealing using approved moderation tools.
  • Write factual incident notes, follow procedures for serious concerns, and complete handoffs for the next moderator and weekday team.
  • Help new players find their way and recognize collaboration, kindness, and positive community moments.
  • Complete paid onboarding and training, including hands-on server practice, scenario-based learning, shadowing, and supervised moderation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with GriefPrevention, CoreProtect, similar logging tools, moderation plugins, or server administration.
  • Experience in gaming communities, online moderation, youth programs, camps, recreation, or supporting neurodivergent young people.
  • Flexibility to cover another moderator’s shift.
