Accounting Manager

About the job
- A college diploma (DEC) in accounting, management, or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in an autonomous role covering the complete accounting cycle is required.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and the complete accounting cycle is required.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort using accounting management systems are required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate are required.
- A high level of integrity and respect for confidentiality are required.
- Strong autonomy combined with well-developed interpersonal skills is required.
- Take responsibility for the organization’s full accounting cycle, including adjusting entries and year-end closing entries.
- Prepare financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement, and financial reports, while actively monitoring annual budgets.
- Prepare annual audit files and collaborate with external auditors.
- Process daily accounts payable and receivable, enter data, perform bank reconciliations, and manage payroll.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and government remittances, including source deductions, GST/QST, and Société d’habitation du Québec requirements.
- Apply and ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Support and advise general management on daily accounting and financial matters.
- Experience in the public, parapublic, or nonprofit sector is an asset.
