About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area, or similar practical experience.
  • Professional software engineering experience with Java or Kotlin.
  • Experience with distributed-systems architecture and development.
  • Experience with technologies such as Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar tools.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools.
  • Advanced or fluent English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality, documented, efficient, tested, and maintainable code.
  • Ensure and improve application observability and monitoring.
  • Proactively improve the technical capabilities of other team members, standards, and overall team quality.
  • Learn other programming languages when needed.
  • Actively improve application security, performance, and stability.
  • Conduct and receive high-quality code reviews with other team members.
  • Influence technical discussions with well-supported arguments and objective, simple solutions.
  • Propose architectural solutions and collaborate with and guide other team members to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Estimate and plan delivery timelines with stakeholders and product partners.
  • Use existing Swile solutions and ensure convergence with global platforms.
  • Work with poorly defined or ambiguous requirements to define solutions with the product team, stakeholders, and other team members.
  • Create incremental solutions with the product team to support continuous improvement and delivery of applications.
  • Deliver tested, automated, and end-to-end-tested solutions to ensure application stability.
  • Monitor production application incidents and take action on them.
  • Lead projects and ensure delivery within estimates.
  • Develop team members' technical capabilities and serve as a role model.
  • Participate in selection processes for engineers at the same or lower level.

Desired Qualifications

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related area.
  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or similar technologies.
