The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a full-time academic clinical chemist/clinical chemistry laboratory director. The position is openrank,and both recent fellowship graduates and mid-careerclinical chemists(PhD or MD/PhD)are strongly encouraged to apply. BIDMC is a tertiary care facility with 743 licensed beds and an internationally renowned principal teaching hospitalofHarvard Medical School with NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center-affiliated Cancer Center.

The collaboration will provide unparalleled opportunities for pathology and other physician specialties to be part of an internationally recognized cancer team.
We are seeking afull-timeclinical chemist(title willbecommensuratewith rank)to join two other clinical chemistry faculty. Eligible candidates for this position must have an MD (with AP/CP or CP board certification, Clinical Chemistry fellowship training preferredas well as eligibility for a MassachusettsStateMedical License) or PhD (with board certification in Clinical Chemistry).
Experiencein automatedchemistryandclinical chemistry immunoassaysisnecessary.Expertiseinlaboratory informaticsis desirable.The successful candidatewill oversee management of a comprehensive and rapidly growingstate-of-the-artlaboratorythat supports active clinical programs in solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, oncology, cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, immunology, endocrinology, obstetrics and neonatology, and therapeutic drug monitoring and toxicology.
In addition to sharing clinical and administrative service responsibilities, the successful candidatewill be expectedto play an active role in our pathology training programs and to develop a strong programin translationaland/or clinicalresearch.

Pay Range:
$269,000 - $321,000
The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
